In the following short tutorial, you will learn all the steps required to setup a new WordPress website on Google Cloud Platform or transfer your existing WordPress website to Google Cloud – whichever applies to you. Because this tutorial was written for beginners BY a beginner, there are no obscure words or technical terms – and it’s super easy to follow!

In this tutorial, you will learn:

  • How to properly install WordPress on Google Cloud.

  • How to transfer an exact copy of your WordPress site to Google Cloud.

  • How to setup your WordPress domain name on Google Cloud

 

STEP 1

Install WordPress on Google Cloud

In the STEP 1 video, you will learn how to launch a WordPress instance on the Google Cloud Compute Engine. You will learn the basics of navigating Google’s Cloud Platform, including how to access your WordPress website once it’s been installed.

If you’re starting a brand new WordPress website, and won’t be transferring an existing WordPress website to Google Cloud, you should skip STEP 2 after this video and go straight to STEP 3 – Setup your WP domain on Google Cloud.

Transfer WordPress site to Google Cloud

In the STEP 2 video, you will learn how to use the All-in-One WP Migration plugin to transfer an exact copy of your WordPress site from your old hosting provider onto your new WordPress on Google Cloud installation.

Don’t bother watching the STEP 2 video if you are starting a new WordPress website and won’t be transferring a copy of an existing site from your old hosting provider.

STEP 3

Setup your domain on Google Cloud

In the STEP 3 video, you will learn how to point a new or existing domain name to your new WordPress on Google Cloud installation.
